So I had a Spanish test today. Tomorrow I have a dino test tues, and a philo test wed. Plus work is loading up since we only have 3 weeks of class including this one before finals. And I'm x-mas shopping the next two weekends(which btw means I won't be around), and then I get to cook and clean for two holidays, write kyo's x-mas fic *luckily already has a rough idea*....etc. I think I need a to do list.

Also, I don't read a lot of YA fantasy but it's my bff's fav genre. Anyone have any recs? She wants books for X-mas. Note: w/ a love story is prefered. Also, she loved Twilight.(except Breaking Dawn)

I read more in the adult scifi/fantasy stuff, too. But I like some teen books. There are some good ones out there.

Of course I gave you links. Wouldn't help you much if you bought the wrong thing. ;) And I've found that B&N is great for book details and info. Amazon gives you too much junk. Unless you're looking for the "if you liked ________ try _______" thing. *shrug*

For the record, DIBBS ON HARRY DRESDEN!

Tithe is very good. Holly Black is an awesome writer.
Sunshine was also excellent. But I wish she'd write a sequel.
Marked, the whole series is really fun. You're never quite sure who to trust, and the 2nd or 3rd one made me cry. Read 'em.
AG&TB: The book is wonderful, and the whole series is awesome. Except I hated the ending of "The Sweet Far Thing" (third book). Good, but oh, so heartbreaking.

It's true. Harry Potter for example.

Oh I have a great story about AG&TB: So I gave it to dad to purchase when he bought his books. I stayed at a table lookin at random books while he paid he comes over to me and said: "You'll never guess what happened." "What?" "I went to buy your book and the girl at checkout gave me an utterly thrilled look and said You're going to love it1"

That icon....it's me. :O

That is a great story. When i was working in Popular Materials, (oddly not teen) a few months back, I had a long convo with a 15 year old girl about how great the books were. I love 'em. The Dragon Lady hates 'em. FTW?

I actually got to use that line on my mom last month. Alas! She didn't know what it was from. *sniff*

Indeed. FTW.

lol. awesome getting to use it.

Definatly wanna read Dresden. It sounds like my kind of book. I love Simon R. Green's Nightside series and people tend to think if a person likes it they'll like Dresden....and hell, Butcher likes Green.

I know. I was giggling like crazy after I said it.

Dresden is great. I'm finally caught up. Which is good and bad. Bad because now I have to wait until April with everyone else to see what happens next.

I haven't read anything of Green's. Maybe I'll look into it.

I would too. I'm constantly on the look.

Aww. I need to start.

He's one of Dad's favs. Dad loves his space/sci-fi set "Deathstalker" and while looking for one of those for dad, mom found me my Nightside. They're of the supernatural private investigator type and have your smart ass, everyone's scared of him character.

You've got some time yet before the new one come out. But yeah, you should start. They're wonderful.

His books sound like fun. My friend Keith keeps trying to get me to read some John Ringo books, buuuuut I keep putting 'em off. They look a little too scifi/military for me.

But I'll definitely look into the nightside series, now. Thanks for the tip.

EDIT: I showed Kyo this icon, but I forgot to show you! *facepalm*

I think Dad reads Ringo, but then again he reads LOTS of sci-fi.

lol. Nice icon. I need to watch ep 5...damn tests....and damn illnesses for making me the taxi service for all my friends.

Apparently Ringo is right up there with Patterson in terms of churning out a book every month. Keith swears I'll like 'em, but I remain unconvinced.

I thought so, too. Episode 5 is going to KILL you. Trust me. I watched on my lunch break, and I was all but screaming at my laptop. Fucking Kaname and fucking Yuuki! To hell with both of 'em!

*snarls*

They probably are. I just kinda lose interest in books that have a strong military-based plot.

EDIT: Yes he does. And I will be more than happy to fill that slot. XD

I do too, unless there are fantastic characters. I may ask Dad how military based they are.

So will I. But you got there first, so (this time) I'll snag Kain. :)
