I've heard about Saiyuki. Is that a manga? Was it ever adapted into an anime?

I think the only Harula fanfic I remember ever reading was one by loveroftheflame. It was badass. Shame she's not active in the A:TLA fandom anymore.

It has. I saw all of the anime actually. The first anime was good, but has dated animation. The second anime (Saiyuki Reload)is still good and has better animation. The third anime (Saiyuki Reload Gunlock) is where it kinda jumped the shark. Good moments, but they seemed to forget their own characters.

Lover is the one who got me into it. We put a lot of it (& zucest) into the Hidden Strength Soap, but several of us got distracted by school/life/etc and we just kinda faded out of it.

What is it with the third series always jumping the shark? *shrugs* Might give it a go anyway, since I hear the ships are good.

9: Kataang, though the show would've done it soon enough on its own. And the angry feminists/self-righteous Holmes people/etc are already sort of turning me off watching Elementary, but we'll see.

Legend of Korra kinda was the equivalent of seeing your childhood best friend after you grew apart. A lot of nostalgia and very little new stuff.

What's going on with Elementary and angry feminists? This sounds fascinating.

I enjoyed it, but much of the magic was gone from the original.

I'm just thinking folks should chill out; the show hasn't even premiered yet.

Yeah, I was sad to see it kinda fizzle. It was good, not great.

In many ways, that makes me worried. I'm all for creative casting, but once it becomes a selling point, I worry about quality. A good actor is a good actor, but I don't want to watch because a woman is playing Watson, I want to watch to see a good presentation and Lucy Liu be an ingredient.

I think I'll give it a go based on pure love of the Sherlock Holmes in general. Not to play into what the angry feminists are going on about, but I honestly am iffy about a female Holmes (partially I'm a traditionalist, but partially it's apparently the third time CBS has tried it and they always flopped before).
Lucy Liu also made a statement regarding the show I didn't like: that now that they have a woman the show can now have romance. Excuse me. 1. 2 men can have a relationship 2. Holmes is supposed to be basically asexual, with the exception of Irene Adler.

Still gonna do my usual 5 episode test run. I do like the fact that they seem to be playing him as legitimately insane, which'll be fun.
Just gonna avoid the fandom, save when it floats across my dash.

20: Either a terrible batman self-insert, an even worse self-insert for disney's 3 musketeers (one of my favourite movies as a kid...hell, I still like that version best) or a strangely well drawn series of ninja turtles.

21: Meh, I have an issue with completing things. My fanworks collection is basically hundreds of WIP.

26: CASTLE IS ABOUT TO START BACK!!!! And with even more Castle/Beckett than usual!!!!
