Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape.

He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as:
Knowing when to come in out of the rain
Why the early bird gets the worm
Life isn’t always fair,

and maybe it was my fault. Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don’t spend more than you can earn) and reliable strategies (adults, not children, are in charge).

His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place.
Reports of a 6-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition. Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly children.

He declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer sun lotion or an Aspirin to a student, but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion.

Common Sense lost the will to live as the churches became businesses and criminals received better treatment than their victims. Common Sense took a beating when you couldn’t defend yourself from a burglar in your own home without the burglar suing you for assault.

Common Sense finally gave up the will to live after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot, spilled a little in her lap and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.

Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents Truth and Trust, by his wife Discretion, his daughter Responsibility, and his son Reason. He is survived by his 4 stepbrothers: I Know My Rights; I Want It Now; Someone Else Is To Blame; and I’m A Victim.

Not many attended his funeral because so few realized he was gone.

If you still remember him, pass this on. If not, join the majority and do nothing.

That was bitterly sardonic.

But yeah, I feel the passing of common sense pretty strongly.

They only forgot to mention that 'Common Sense went into cardiac arrest when a man who had done nothing got awarded the Nobel Prize'.

R.I.P. Common Sense. At least you won't live to see the world go to hell =(

Definitely =\

I was talking to one of the guys in lab today, and he's all like, "You know, I love Obama, I support him all the way, but that whole nobel thing was just messed up."

Maybe the guys who decided to give it to him were trying to reward potential good behavior? Pffffft. Yeah right ><

Wow, an Obama lover said that. Wow. I'm pretty neutral towards the man, except his new attempts w/ the gay community. That I like.

Well, according to what I've read, they gave it to him "to encourage his initiatives to reduce nuclear arms, ease tensions with the Muslim world and stress diplomacy and cooperation rather than unilateralism."

So they gave him a Nobel to encourage him to do something worthy of a Nobel.

Yep. I'm glad to see that even his fans are going wtc? about this whole thing. Maybe common sense isn't so dead after all XD

I don't like the guy at all. I mean, when he was running against Hilary, I chose him over her, but the guy has zero experience in office. McCain would've done a much better job, if only he wasn't so old.

It seems to me that Obama is pretty much all talk and no go. He's trying to change the world, instead of working on fixing the economy first. I'd really like to know what Muslims have to do with the fact that thousands of Americans are out of a job =[

Nobel to encourage him to do something of a Nobel. huh. That sounds really backwards, if you think about it >__<

Me too.

I dunno. I don't want to judge him to harsh before he has a chance to do something, but, as my friend pointed out, he's turning out to be more of a celeb than a president. But I definatly agree on the economy. I think our next president should be a economist.

I actually liked McCain too. I really didn't want Palin though. :(

lol. Noticed that did you?

Yep, tis! :D Got it from [livejournal.com profile] henceakneeli. I love Rukia- thank god she's finally back in the manga.

And I <3 your icon too! Never did understand all the Anzu-bashing that went on in the fandom. Heck, the other characters ranted just as much about friendship as she did. Whatever, fans are weird.

Amen.

But seriously, I'm always saying, USE YOUR COMMON SENSE and people always stare back at me blankly and reply,

"I've never had it."

I know. It's stupid as hell. Luckily, in the area of the South I live in, the judges would agree w/ me.
