Exactly. We don't care about canon and never really expected it to go our way(not that it wouldn't be nice).

And do they really think this video and the kataang and maiko kisses will crush us? I mean we have an INCREDIBLE ship and still have the best art and fics...and let us not forget the AU. And even the EIP while making fun of zutara still was zutara and hotter than kataang. and zuko made sure to sit by katara

What the FUCK is with all this butthurt? It wasn't meant to be taken seriously! They made it as a funny joke. Same thing with the goofy sketches they showed last year, and the Shipping Game they did the year before. It was their way of saying "We appreciate all of your creativity and dedication to the show, no matter what form it takes."

It's been obvious for a long arse time Bryke was never fond of Zutara, because having it shoved at them from all angles was an insult.

It was a bloody JOKE, guys. If you can't take a goofy cartoon made as a joke, then you must have the skin of a goldfish or something. Sheesh.

I agree we shouldn't have been shoveling zutara at them all the time but they always seem to put us down in particular. I knew we wouldn't be canon and I didn't care, but I don't need my fandom getting put down.

If they did mean it as a joke and the reports we got were taken out of proportion, I may change my postion.

At least they don't hate our Jetko...or haven't said they did.

It was a joke. My friend who was there described it to me (and she's a Zutara shipper). It was a joke few minute short meant to just be funny. And at the end was a message that said something along the lines of "Thank you for all your wonderful fanworks."

You know what? I bet you on a stack of pancakes they wouldn't put down Zutara if it wasn't shoved down their throats! Think how you'd react if you had something like that happen to you.

That's probably true, but not every zutara shipper shoves it down their throats all the time. I'm just here for the pretty arts and fics. I knew it wouldn't be canon and had no intention of trying to convince them otherwise.

Thing is, for every Zutara shipper who is calm and doesn't bug anyone, there's 2 or 3 who try to convince M&B how great the pairing is. Bryke doesn't care and that concept has failed to dawn on people.

Well, I'm mostly cooled down from it at this point but just the constant attack on us by the creators, who clearly aren't fond of the pairing...I mean we know it wasn't canon and we don't care. There's just no reason we HAVE to like kataang.
And the "doomed relationships" comment was pretty low.
But meh, over it now mostly.

And i love that icon....of course, I've noticed that you tend to collect awesome icons.

Wow. I can see why people got upset. But I think they only meant it in jest. I checked out a book 3 dvd the other day and listened to the commentary for the episode where the begin the invasion of the fire nation (the eclipse), and they were talking about the different pairings. They even used the smushed up versions, I.E. KatAang and Zutara. And they were saying that it (Katara) could go either way, 'cause when Aang kissed her, she didn't look all that thrilled about it.

I'm curious to see what they think of Zucest, though.
