*Welcome, new friends from the recent memes!

*My family & C's went down to the beach for New Year's. We hit some awesome restaurants & mostly lazed about. C & I hit the used book store at the pier and grabbed a few things. C & my aunt also gave me a late Christmas gift they didn't get wrapped by Christmas. TK had us watch a bunch of OUAT S1 & we all watched Downton Abbey S5 to refresh before the new season. I also finished The Book Thief (which was REALLY good, even better than the movie) & started Gillian Anderson's book, which has been an easy & enjoyable read thus far.
Pretty nice weekend, though the house starts feeling too small once you have 8 people in it.
Daddy on the other hand spent the trip sick, and, mom insisted he go to urgent care when we got home Sunday (Daddy & I have historically been very against going to the dr because of time & money but mom was very convincing). As expected: stomach bug. He'll be fine.

*Looks like I've got to run Chloe (the beagle) to the vet friday since she's been limping for going on 4 weeks now. They said I had to drop her off so they could "squeeze her in whenever" and they would "keep her till the end of the workday for me". I had to nix that last bit. She's people shy & if I leave her there all day, I'll never get her in a car again. So, I'm going to have to make them call me the second she's done & keep her with me at the office until the end of the workday, unless they release her by lunch, in which case I'll take her home. :/

*And my brother texted me to say that Regan & Susie (labs) teamed up to chew off Susie's collar, so I have to fuss at dogs when I get home & I get to buy another. (I never used to put collars on them, but I had them on for deer season & they seemed to have gotten used to them so we decided to roll w/ it).

Oooh, I really want to read Gillian Anderson's book! Let me know what you think :D

I hope your dad and dog feel better soon!

this is the first book from Gillian? I know the second one is coming soon, or just came out lol. I hope for a speedy recovery for your dad, and that your dog feels better!

Oh those furbabies... always worry us... my Cisco started "crying" all night about 2 nights ago and I thought she was getting sick, but she "only" is in heat - which is bad enough with all her crying - and will have to get castrated on Friday and I hope it'll be over afterwards and I'll be able to sleep through the night again *lol*

Glad to hearyour father is okay. Hope he feels much better soon, though...

Loving Blaine SO much this season too. I mean, I was always kinda biased about him - he's David Anders after all - but now even moreso... XD

Pretty good so far, though definitely in an easy beach read/Patterson/etc kind of way.

Thanks.

I'm reading the first one. I hadn't even heard she had one out till I saw the second one in the bookstore.

Thanks.

Thanks.

Carson/Hughes is really the only pairing I'm invested in on that show at this point. I like the idea of Tom/Mary, but based on seeing nothing about it on tumblr, I doubt it's happening.

Oh lord. Hope you get that taken care of soon & get some sleep. All of ours are outdoor animals (in winter we put a pile of pet beds on the porch and then cover them with blankets) so the cat never keeps us up, but sometimes the dogs bark at "invaders"/trailer park dogs/cars & keep us up.
Thankfully, Roxy was spayed when we got her. Otherwise, I'd probably still be cat-less.

Thanks.

Same. There's more dimensions to his character this season & he's even more enjoyable to watch

I feel like I didn't give The Book Thief a fair shot. I felt lost reading it and maybe I just wasn't in the right mindset. I really wanted to read it before watching the film, and I still have a chance to do so!

I hope everything turns out well with Chloe. :(

Thanks for the welcome :)

I'm just loving Blaine even more this season

To be honest I wasn't Blaine's biggest fan last season, but I'm definitely enjoying the writing for him a lot more this season, especially since they introduced the background with his grandfather and given him more dimensions. Human Blaine has won me over *g*
