The only prequel i liked was 3, and I don't know, i like them & it was important plot-wise.
I thought the prequels were uniformly awful. I particularly disliked Revenge of the Sith because, while it might not have been any worse than the other two, it made it perfectly clear that George Lucas should never have touched Vader's backstory. He butchered it. Worst thing I ever did was watch the deleted scenes from RotS and realize the movie could even have been edited better, forget the writing and directing. :b
Otherwise, i did like Obi-Wan.
I remember seeing people grumble that Ewan McGregor was the only one who did any acting in the prequels, and thinking it was a bit unfair given how awful the writing was. Natalie Portman and the guy who played Anakin had their hands full just delivering some of their really awful dialog with straight faces. Ewan did the best he could with what he got.
Once i got older, i had no clue where to start with the EU. Any suggestions?
Heir to the Empire Book One of The Thrawn Trilogy by Timothy Zahn. I haven't read the 20th anniversary edition, just the original, but the fact it was given a 20th anniversary edition in 2011 says more than I can about it's importance to the whole of the extended universe.
I forgot about The Clone Wars & the only cartoon that came to mind was a movie about ewoks.
There were a pair of cartoon series in the 80's when I was a kid. One was focused on R2D2 and 3P0 naturally called Droids, and one was focused on the Ewoks naturally called Ewoks. The Ewok movies from the 80's were live action. I watched both Caravan of Courage: An Ewok Adventure, and Ewoks: The Battle for Endor. I think Clone Wars was the post prequel release cartoon, but there is also the actively airing on Disney XD cartoon series Star Wars:Rebels I think. There have been a number of Star Wars cartoons, and I remember some of them fondly. I have loved the Ewoks in every form.
