1. What did you do in 2011 that you'd never done before?
Got a tumblr, graduated college, got into law school, lived through a semester of law school; live with someone I went to high school with (which has been okay...but we're not bffs or anything), tried jello shots
2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Didn't have any. Not making new ones because I'll just forget them anyway
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
My best friend from high school (I tend to have "best friend from ______" *shrugs*)
4. Did anyone close to you die?
My cousin's grandma, who, while she didn't see eye-to-eye with me on many things, was almost more of a grandma to me than the one I have still living.
5. What countries did you visit?
Seven Kingdoms of Westeros :)
6. What would you like to have in 2012 that you lacked in 2011?
Public speaking ability. Motivation to do homework
7. What date from 2011 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
When I learned I made it into law school. And the law school halloween party b/c oh dear lord. *shudders* The costumes...
And of course the day I learned my baby(my truck) was stolen.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Getting into law school.
9. What was your biggest failure?
Not applying early enough to get into a cheaper law school. lol (though honestly mine is a better law school)
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Nope. I actuallty managed Momo this past year without some form of illness or injury. That is a miracle.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
the pile of books from the BAM store-closing sale, several cheap seasons of SPN.
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Mom as always. My second favourite cousin (so much improvement). My baby cousin as of this trip (finally understands "no"). My favourite cousin. Twin & Erica (no clue how I'd have made it through the past semester without them).
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
My brother. My favourite cousin (complicated). Both of my gpas & my gma. My friend B.
14. Where did most of your money go?
Food. Beer. Retail therapy. LAW SCHOOL (bastards).
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Thor, Captain America, and Sherlock Holmes II.
16. What song will always remind you of 2011?
Long Shot by Kelly Clarkson (b/c it's the last song I got into before the year is up...probably)
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? About the same, but missing my nerdy friends.
ii. thinner or fatter? About the same.
iii. richer or poorer? Much poorer. Law school is over $36,000 a years.
18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Studying. Livejournaling.
19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Not studying during finals. Stressing.
20. How will you be spending Christmas?
Spent it with immediate & extended family at home. Plus a short church service in the morning.
21. At any point in the past year did you do something that you consider completely out of your usual character? Bitched out a roommate who was leaving a huge mess in our living room
22. Did you fall in love in 2011?
Not unless you count with fictional characters.
23. How many one-night stands?
Again, are ficitional characters included.
24. What was your favorite TV program?
Castle. The one that didn't disappoint. Also: SPN (but mostly just b/c I'll support my boys till the end), Once Upon a Time, Grimm, Hawaii Five-0, GAME OF THRONES, Blood Ties & Carnivale (last 2 are old, but I'm just now watching.) Yeah I watched a lot of tv in an effort to calm myself down after the law school stress.
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
My asshole of a contracts prof. A couple class gunners.
26. What was the best book you read this year?
I was an english major at the start of the year and read many a wonderful thing plus some outside of class, but possibly Peter Pan or Rot & Ruin or Girl With the Dragon Tattoo or Every Dead Thing...probably that last one.
27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Operation: Mindcrime by Queensryche. And Sour Cherry by the Kills. And misc covers of pop songs.
28. What did you want and get?
Fabulous cardigans & jackets from Loft, some dvds & the 2nd & 3rd Hunger Games.
29. What did you want and not get?
Thor, Captain America & Forever Knight season 3. None of which I can purchase until I'm sure family didnt' get them for me for birthday.
30. What was your favorite film of this year?
Thor, Captain America or Harry Potter 7.
31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
As I share a birthday with Mom, we went out to eat and came home for drinks & a movie.
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
If I'd spent more time actually chatting with my awesome Twin, Erica & Cousin, rather than just relying on them to keep me sane. Sorry, bbs. Gonna try to do better.
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2011?
"Look nerdy while I can!" followed by "so I guess I should start leaning towards professional...yeah"
34. What kept you sane?
Music. TV. Twin. Erica. Mom. My puppies.
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Nathan Fillion, Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, Misha Collins & RDJ.
36. What political issue stirred you the most?
Eh, SOPA. The damn Republicans in a search for a candidate. Guys, I'd love to vote for you, but you give me this shit.
37. Who did you miss?
My nerdy friends once I started law school
38. Who was the best new person you met?
One of the 2 roomies I didn't already know. She may be too normal for my um, normal tastes, but she's as mean as me, so debates can be fun.
39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2011.
I learned "what is a chicken". Don't ask. Law school.
Also, the cops in my law school's town are idiots.
