Questions

So, my friend and I depart for England next month for study abroad. The program takes us on some mandatory field trips, but we have 3 day weekends to do our own. Mom & I are trying to construct a list of things that are must-sees but as you can imagine, some things may slip our minds.

So, any suggestions for England/Ireland/Scotland/Wales places of interest? Help is appreciated.

Also, going to France, but we really only plan to see the Louvre & Notre Dame since it's a brief trip (my friend refuses to stay overnight in France. No I don't get it either).

We may possibly (but probably not) visit Germany. Suggestions for there just in case?

I'll be staying at a University in London actually.

Thanks for the suggestions. :)

I dunno. She would not have been my ideal choice of European travel partner, but I'm still glad she's going. But I'm not pushing the spend the night so that I can convince her to search for the Drones Club(of which she will have no interest).

Btw, does blogger.com/blogspot.com work in England? I'm thinking I may put a picture feed in that whilst in Europe for the benefit of my family. (I'd rather them leave lj alone & only a few have FB).

Really thanks for all the help.

Thanks! I needed a no-account-required-to-view type site. My grandparents can barely work the internet, but should be able to type in an address. :)...I hope. (They thought that my grandma's cell was broken when it wouldn't ring, it just "buzzed a bit". We told them that that was b/c it was set on vibrate)

and this is why I either travel on my own or with someone who wants to see the same things I want to see. I studied in Italy for 5 weeks, lived in an apartment with 3 other students, and got to travel all over the country. Enjoy England!

I'd love to travel with Mom, but this is the most affordable and efficent method. I'm working on making compromises w/ the friend. Place I wanna go in exchange for one she wants, etc.

You hate me? Now I will be too heart-broken to enjoy England.

...Doc Marten's store in London?

Yeah, I got nothing. Sorry. I was gonna say #12 Grimauld Place, but I figured you'd hurt me if I did.

Best of luck with The Louvre! The workers were on strike when I went there to see it, so I couldn't get in. :( stupid french

Hope we have better luck. :(

Bring me back a Weasley if you find Hogwarts!

I hope you do too. Especially since The Louvre was the whole reason I went on the trip in the first place. :(

The Louvre is a great place, but if you can squeeze it in, I'd go see Versailles. <3

No tips for England, since the most I've been there was the half and hour-or-so stay in Heathrow airport.

I'm trying to convince my friend to do one night in France so we can see more. (And good suggestion)
